Its story

One of sport’s greatest strengths: triggering big emotions and providing unforgettable memories. For example, if you’re in your forties like me, and I say “1998” in the context of sports… there’s a good chance you know exactly what I’m talking about and where you were…
That’s why it’s a theme I’ve wanted to work on for a long time, even if I’m not personally a great athlete.

Of course, it was important for me to approach it in a way more traditionally seen as “feminine,” since men already have more than enough merchandising dedicated to them. The artistic leathercraft I practice was the perfect tool.

To begin this work, I chose to pay tribute to the local flagship team of my adopted department: ASSE, even if I’m not really into football.
I thrifted a jersey and a vintage pennant at Trincamp (a local shop dedicated to vintage football), and searched for bag patterns that would showcase them through their shapes.

For the pennant, this pattern was an obvious choice, with its triangles on the front (which had always reminded me of a bikini, but here took on a new dimension).
I searched for the right green leather for a long time, and the haute leather scraps I found at Sibel Leather saved me. To complement it, I used a white leather jacket thrifted a few months earlier, and a lining from a workshop closure.
And of course this pennant, chosen for its date (my birth year), its colors, and its very sensual fringe.

This bag is bold, sophisticated, and very yonic. When femininity rhymes with strength and charisma.

This piece is based on the "Alaula" pattern by Lavender and Twine.
