Ester's mother’s shirt N° : SM-090
Ester had recently lost her mother and entrusted me with one of her shirts to honor her memory.
Ester loves telling stories. She reached out because my title — “Textile Storyteller” — resonated with her.
We talked about my bespoke sentimental materials service, and about her own work as a writing coach.
She had lost her mother a few months earlier, and I was feeling stuck myself.
Then it clicked: we were going to help each other tell the stories that mattered to us.
She honored me by entrusting me with one of her mother’s shirts, along with a backpack she no longer used.
Together, we thought about what kind of bag would suit her best — its size, its function, its spirit...
In the end, we settled on a “sling” bag, worn across the body, large enough to hold her writing notebook.
I made it by reusing as many existing elements from the original backpack as possible — straps, hardware, and all.
I suggested a few thread colors, and once every detail was decided, I traced, cut, interfaced… and assembled it all.
The result is both deeply symbolic and wonderfully practical.
The same goes for the newsletter born from this collaboration.
A truly meaningful experience for both of us.
It’s absolutely gorgeous! I’m so happy with it — it exceeds all my expectations.
I wore it earlier and felt as if my mom’s presence was with me, like a gentle nudge toward greater awareness.
A huge thank you for the care and energy you put into it. It truly feels made with heart.
I’m so glad I met you.
You're a radiant woman who knows how to sew and unsew emotions and turn them into beauty. I can only recommend you wholeheartedly.
