“C'est ASSE(z), 2”  CO-196

A shoulder bag in white and green leathers combined with a vintage green-and-white football jersey, and a white-and-green polyester satin lining.

"Cogitations" Range / Collection What about sports? Deconstructing the codes of a traditionally masculine sport through rounded shapes, soft leathers, and a broken-mirror effect.

Its story

One of sport’s greatest strengths: triggering big emotions and creating unforgettable memories. For example, if you’re in your forties like me, and I say “1998” in a sports context… there’s a good chance you know exactly what I mean and where you were…
That’s why it’s a theme I’ve wanted to address for a long time, even if I’m not myself a great athlete.

Of course, it was important for me to do so in a way more traditionally seen as “feminine,” since men already have more than enough merchandising dedicated to them. The artistic leathercraft I practice was the ideal medium.

To begin this work, I chose to pay tribute to the local flagship of my adopted department: ASSE, even if I’m not really into football.
I thrifted a jersey and a vintage pennant at Trincamp (a local shop dedicated to vintage football), and searched for bag patterns that would showcase them through their shapes.

This pattern has definitely inspired me. I’m already nearing the limit of 5 versions I set myself—this is the third.
Its shape, its suppleness, and its cuts reminiscent of a broken mirror all perfectly matched my goal.
I searched for the right green leather for a long time, and the haute maroquinerie scraps I found at Sibel Leather saved me. To complement them, I used a white leather jacket thrifted a few months earlier, and a lining salvaged from a workshop closure.
And of course, this vintage jersey, chosen for its patterns and lack of sponsors. I also loved its collar, which I used for the handle.

A casual yet chic bag, that remains practical.

Common questions

What do you do with your production offcuts?

Your own bespoke fabric offcuts aren't covered here: they're always sent back to you with your finished piece, unless you tell me to keep them or dispose of them differently.

As for my own production offcuts: nothing is thrown away if I can help it. They're reused in my workshop for reinforcement, worked into mosaics to create larger pieces, or used as is for small creations (keychains, bookmarks...). The rest is given away depending on its nature and size: to other artisans (such as jewellery makers), or to associations, community centres and schools for their workshops.

What are the delivery timeframes?

All orders (excluding custom orders) are shipped within 24 hours (excl. week-ends and public holidays). The delivery time then depends on the chosen shipping method (Mondial Relay or Colissimo) and the delivery location (France or abroad). Delays may occur due to reasons beyond my control (e.g., related to the carrier).
