“Gump”  CO-179

A zippered pouch sewn from sage green leather, black patent leather, fuchsia pink leather, and two scraps of a babywearing wrap with a green, beige, and pink mesh pattern on a black background.

"Intuitions" Range / Theme Geometry Both playful and understated, fun yet chic, the Poisson pouch is compact yet spacious.

Its story

This cute little pouch is both compact and spacious.
I wanted this version to be playful and chic, with a strong sensory appeal. So, I combined materials with very contrasting textures and colors but with a common thread of softness: rescued leathers from High Leather Goods, and scraps from a babywearing wrap.

“Gump” is one of the 5 pieces from the “Poisson d'Avril” (April's Fool) collection, born from an impulse when Shamballa Bags released this adorable pouch pattern that inspired me a lot. In search of whimsy, I got sucked in and immediately imagined the most incredible combinations of materials and colors:
✨ mirror leather, metallic bouclé, faux leather, sequins, high-couture denim, synthetic fur, sequined tulle, cork on cotton, satin, linen…
🎨 gold, rainbow, silver, copper, turquoise, sage, fuchsia…

🤩 A feast for the eyes and the senses!

Common questions

How do you ship?

Delivery of your order is an essential part of my customer service. I strive to provide you with a reliable, fast, and convenient delivery experience, so you can quickly enjoy your purchases.

Once your order is placed, I ensure that your items are carefully packaged and prepared for shipping. I choose the most suitable packaging options to protect your products during transportation.
My pieces are thoughtfully wrapped and shipped in upcycled cardboard boxes (read more).

Each bag is protected by its custom-made satin drawstring pouch, made from 100% organic cotton satin or 100% linen fabric, and closed with a 100% organic cotton cord, that I custom-make specifically for each bag.
Wallets and other small items are wrapped in tissue paper, either new (locally and sustainably produced) or recycled depending on their size.

I offer free shipping to France. For all other destinations, I aim to maintain competitive and transparent shipping costs. Shipping fees are calculated based on the weight, size of your package, and the destination to provide you with the fairest pricing possible.

Whether it's standard, express, or international delivery, I work with reliable carriers (Colissimo or Mondial Relay) to ensure the delivery of your package within the estimated timeframes, with tracking and insurance. If you wish to use other shipping providers like FedEx or UPS, please contact me at hello@marie-alhomme.com or by phone at +33(0)661356222 so I can calculate a cost estimate for you.

What is the protective pouch included with the bags?

Every bag I create comes with a bespoke protective pouch, made by hand in my studio.

This isn't throwaway packaging — it's a permanent accessory, meant to be used every day to store your bag when you're not using it, protect it from scratches and dust, or keep it safe when travelling.

It's made in organic cotton satin, sewn to the exact dimensions of your piece, with an organic cotton drawstring to close it. It's branded Marie Alhomme.

For wallets, coin purses, and smaller accessories, I wrap the piece in tissue paper produced locally and sustainably (Papeteries de Montségur, Loire), rather than in a pouch.

Where do the fabrics and leathers used in Studio Créatif pieces come from?

As a rule, these are never the fabrics you entrust to me for a bespoke piece: those remain yours alone. The only exception: sometimes a client explicitly gives me her offcuts and asks me to find them a new life elsewhere. In that specific case, and only with her agreement, they may end up in a Studio Créatif creation.

Outside of these particular cases, Studio Créatif pieces come from my own research: rescued leathers, fabrics found at flea markets or second-hand, dormant stocks from luxury houses, offcuts from high-end leather goods... I choose and combine them following my inspiration of the moment, with no specific order behind them.

What do you do with your production offcuts?

Your own bespoke fabric offcuts aren't covered here: they're always sent back to you with your finished piece, unless you tell me to keep them or dispose of them differently.

As for my own production offcuts: nothing is thrown away if I can help it. They're reused in my workshop for reinforcement, worked into mosaics to create larger pieces, or used as is for small creations (keychains, bookmarks...). The rest is given away depending on its nature and size: to other artisans (such as jewellery makers), or to associations, community centres and schools for their workshops.

Charlotte’s baby wrap

After ordering a bag from stock, Charlotte realized it would be too small. I offered to make her a custom, larger version, and she sent me her baby wrap to transform.
