“D'or et de Charbon”  CO-091

A zippered card and coin holder made with black and gold marbled babywearing wrap fabric and matte black cork.

"Intuitions" Range / Theme Geometry A great combination of contrasts: gold with charcoal, rich fabric with smooth and matte cork, geometric and straight assembly with the anarchy of the pattern. A true favorite for this practical and elegant wallet model.

Its story

When I thrifted this babywearing wrap, I wanted to play with contrasts: between the preciousness of gold and the simplicity of charcoal, between the rich and shiny texture of the fabric and the smoother, matte texture of cork. This led to a very geometric, very straight assembly to oppose the anarchy of the pattern and materialize one last contrast.

I had a real crush on this practical wallet model, named “En Ville”, whether in its Mini version or its regular version, to the point that I made several copies, including for myself, which rarely happens.

Also discover those versions: “L'heure du Thé (Noir)”, “Mille Toffees”, “Traces”, “Art Déco Sylvestre”, “Art Déco Gris”, “Belle en Jean”, “Joyaux Aviaires”, “Prism Paon”, “Arc-en-ciel dans l'Ombre”, “Spectre”, “Martin Pêcheur”.

Near Perfect?

Slightly reduced price (normal price 328€) because I'm not completely satisfied with the cork/fabric assembly.

Common questions

Where/How are they made?

I make all my products in my workshop in the city of St Just St Rambert in the Loire department (42). I use several machines depending on needs: a professional sewing machine, an industrial sewing machine, a serger, a press (for eyelets, rivets, etc.), an iron press, and a motorized skiver.

I carefully choose my technical supplies (interfacings, hardware, etc.) and some innovative materials (such as cotton-backed cork or silicon faux leather) from trusted suppliers.

My other fabrics and materials are mostly upcycled and come from renowned babywearing brands, dormant stocks from Haute-Couture/High-End houses (clothing and furnishings), scraps from High-End leather goods houses, as well as “seconds” from specialized boutiques (especially for faux leather) or from personal collections found at flea markets or on specialized second-hand websites.

Find out more about this on the Soulful Values page.

How long does it take for a custom piece?

The time it takes will greatly depend on the complexity of your request, the availability of components, and my schedule, which varies depending on the time of year. On average, expect between 4 and 10 weeks. The quote I provide will contain an accurate estimate of the timeline, and I commit to responding as accurately as possible to your requests, while respecting the creative and production process.

"Will this style really suit me?"

If a piece draws you in, it already resonates with you.
We are never one-dimensional: it might reveal a side of your personality still waiting to shine.

What do you do with your production offcuts?

Your own bespoke fabric offcuts aren't covered here: they're always sent back to you with your finished piece, unless you tell me to keep them or dispose of them differently.

As for my own production offcuts: nothing is thrown away if I can help it. They're reused in my workshop for reinforcement, worked into mosaics to create larger pieces, or used as is for small creations (keychains, bookmarks...). The rest is given away depending on its nature and size: to other artisans (such as jewellery makers), or to associations, community centres and schools for their workshops.

Charlotte’s baby wrap

After ordering a bag from stock, Charlotte realized it would be too small. I offered to make her a custom, larger version, and she sent me her baby wrap to transform.
