"Cogitations" Range / Collection Femininities A militant coin purse, paying tribute to my sister Laurence, who fell victim to an aggressive breast cancer 14 years ago.

Its story

I sewed this Zip-Zip, a small, compact, and practical coin purse, ready to slip into your bag and keep your change or cards. It's a simple yet effective design with two zippered pockets and a small wrist strap.

Every year, “Octobre Rose” is an occasion that particularly touches me, even though I'm not exactly sure what to do. Or at least, I thought I wasn't ready to publicly invest this moment. In 2022, I created the “Bourgeon” Shoulder Bag as a tribute to my sister Laurence, who passed away 14 years ago from an aggressive form of breast cancer.

I auctioned it off for the benefit of a local association, Ama Rose. It was acquired by a woman who decided to return it to me this year (2023) to auction it again for the association. At the time, I added a small coin purse “Zip-Zip”, which was also donated and sold for the benefit of the association during the Sivalor open house event in early September. So, I decided to create another one for this year, and this is the one you are viewing now.

What materials do you use to make my pieces?

Your sentimental fabric or leather is always at the heart of the project. For the rest, here is what I use by default:

  • Exterior (beyond the fabric you provide): salvaged leather by default (cowhide, lambskin, goat, pig…); optionally: certified organic cotton canvas, cork on 100% cotton backing, Nisiar (grape marc “leather”)… No faux leather, ever.
  • Lining: 100% cotton poplin, cretonne or satin (organic where possible), 100% linen canvas, wool or wool-silk blend…
  • Interfacings (by design): certified organic cotton batting, Decovil Light or Heavy, Texon, Jeffitex…
  • Hardware: metal only — gold, antique gold, chrome, gunmetal, antique bronze, copper/rose gold, matte black, rainbow… Special colours available on request (extra cost and lead time).
  • Handles & straps: leather, canvas, your own fabric (if enough quantity), cork… in simple or bi-material styles. Or pre-made strap in 100% organic cotton or polycotton, plain or multicolour, per brief.
What are the payment methods and conditions?

Payment can be made in several ways:

  • Right away on the website, by credit card or PayPal: your order will be shipped immediately ;
  • In 4 installments with PayPal (on the website, subject to acceptance by PayPal) or with Alma (you’ll need to contact me first so that I can provide you with a dedicated link): both are offered at no additional cost to you, and your order will be shipped immediately ;
  • Deferred payment by bank transfer (with direct contact according to your preferences): your order will only be shipped upon receipt of the full payment.
