Its story

Spring is here! Tender buds are bursting on their branches, a delicate scent emanates from the plants, and the sun is finally warming us...
This soft and elegant piece that combines vintage with modernity, featuring a retro shape and a botanical pattern with delightful colors, aspires to be an ode to renewal.

I stumbled upon this fabric by chance while rummaging through second-hand pants at a flea market for my youngest son (we're thrift store enthusiasts). Digging through a pile, I discovered this enormous piece of synthetic fabric (probably curtain fabric) with a pattern and colors that drew me in despite myself. I picked it up, and destiny revealed itself when at my next stop, I found four exhibition coupons of faux leather in perfectly harmonized shades (cream, pink, orange, and apricot)...

I had the perfect combination, and I immediately envisioned creating a mini-collection around this fabric. Its name eluded me for a long time until I asked my “fans” (a grand word) on social media, and when the word “Éclosion” was suggested, I immediately knew it was the right one.

As for the design, it's an exclusive model. It was initially conceived by a designer who had me in mind and all my contradictions: she envisioned a small but functional shape, sturdy yet feminine... When she presented her prototype to me, it was love at first sight, but I wondered how to ensure that the opening would be durably strong without compromising the bag's lines. She temporarily abandoned the project and created another one for me (see the “Marie” handbag).
But I couldn't get this initial draft out of my head, so I asked her for the pattern pieces to work on and find a solution. She also revisited her ideas, and we came up with three different solutions, including two from me.

The piece presented here is one of my two solutions, with handles that start from inside the bag, distributing the force to avoid pulling on the outer fabric. The overall external shape is the one she designed.
The result is original, practical, and durable.
I named it “Squat” because it reminds me of the corresponding strength exercise, where you crouch down to rise up better, with the feeling of power that accompanies this movement.

The other piece is found here and shares a common base but also has many differences.

Common questions

Can I place an order by phone?

You can contact me by phone at +33(0)661356222, and I will provide you with a final invoice that you can then pay by bank transfer or credit card.

Where/How are they made?

I make all my products in my workshop in the city of St Just St Rambert in the Loire department (42). I use several machines depending on needs: a professional sewing machine, an industrial sewing machine, a serger, a press (for eyelets, rivets, etc.), an iron press, and a motorized skiver.

I carefully choose my technical supplies (interfacings, hardware, etc.) and some innovative materials (such as cotton-backed cork or silicon faux leather) from trusted suppliers.

My other fabrics and materials are mostly upcycled and come from renowned babywearing brands, dormant stocks from Haute-Couture/High-End houses (clothing and furnishings), scraps from High-End leather goods houses, as well as “seconds” from specialized boutiques (especially for faux leather) or from personal collections found at flea markets or on specialized second-hand websites.

Where do the fabrics and leathers used in Studio Créatif pieces come from?

As a rule, these are never the fabrics you entrust to me for a bespoke piece: those remain yours alone. The only exception: sometimes a client explicitly gives me her offcuts and asks me to find them a new life elsewhere. In that specific case, and only with her agreement, they may end up in a Studio Créatif creation.

Outside of these particular cases, Studio Créatif pieces come from my own research: rescued leathers, fabrics found at flea markets or second-hand, dormant stocks from luxury houses, offcuts from high-end leather goods... I choose and combine them following my inspiration of the moment, with no specific order behind them.
