Its story

An ancestral pattern, bold colors, a surprising shape. A piece that doesn't go unnoticed, like a tribute to the continent from which the main fabric originates.

I always hesitate to use wax fabric because I'm not sure if I'm buying it from the right place, and I want to avoid cultural appropriation, a concept I'm sensitive to.
But this piece was sent to me by a fellow seamstress who wanted to share a piece of her culture with me during a mystery swap. So I took great pleasure in trying to celebrate it as best as I could.

For that, I used a very original backpack pattern in terms of its shape, and functional in terms of its volume and various pockets. Its front face immediately reminded me of this “Nasique” (Proboscis Monkey), and that's how it got its name.
