Its story
âRainbows & Glitterâ is the essence of the Unicorn, distilled to its simplest expression.
For the past year, I've been increasingly exploring color codes that are very different from my original aesthetic. Glitter, white, and rainbows are definitely part of that.
However, I was âcalledâ by this synthetic fur (yikes!), and I almost immediately had a vision of what I was going to do with it.
The perfect opportunity to use these scraps of glittery faux leather acquired instinctively from a seamstress; and also to make a backpack, which hadn't happened in a while.
Because I sketched and resketched, what could have had a very figurative rendering or an ultra-kitsch style became what seems to me to be the quintessential essence of the unicorn concept.
The result is a large backpack with clean lines and filled with small details: the horn handle, the tassel flap, the rainbow thread, the âtwo-toneâ straps...
