“Composition”  CO-197

A crossbody bag made of different leathers in royal blue, deep red, bright yellow, white, and black.

"Cogitations" Range / Collection Wearable Art Be a work of art while carrying one, without sacrificing practicality thanks to its many pockets. Bold colors and strong lines in a piece that evokes Mondrian’s iconic work, instantly recognizable.

Its story

It took me 46 years to admit to myself that I am an Artist. A whole reflection on the notion of Art led me to launch this triptych “Wearable Art” in order to dust it off.
I wanted a different vision: less academic, more accessible, more personal. Where artworks are worn, crumpled, and live with us.

To do this, I chose to illustrate three great classical disciplines: painting, sculpture, and music.
“Composition” is the first part, representing painting through Mondrian’s work of the same name (at least, its most well-known version).

The choice of pattern was obvious: the smaller version of “Échiquier,” born from a collective “mystery sewing” (a type of creative challenge I love), was perfect for its geometric nature and square-based divisions.
As for the materials, they came from a meticulous search among haute couture leather offcuts at Sybel Leather, combined with pieces from a skirt and a jacket by a major Parisian fashion house.

The result: this crossbody bag is practical, fun, and chic, proclaiming loud and clear a love of Art.

What do you do with your production offcuts?

Your own bespoke fabric offcuts aren't covered here: they're always sent back to you with your finished piece, unless you tell me to keep them or dispose of them differently.

As for my own production offcuts: nothing is thrown away if I can help it. They're reused in my workshop for reinforcement, worked into mosaics to create larger pieces, or used as is for small creations (keychains, bookmarks...). The rest is given away depending on its nature and size: to other artisans (such as jewellery makers), or to associations, community centres and schools for their workshops.

Why are there "Near-Perfect" items and what are they?

As part of my sustainable view of the modern luxury fashion, creating as little waste as possible is central. You can learn more about this on my Soulful Values page.
