“Royal”  CO-193

A bucket bag made from babywearing wrap fabric featuring yellow thistles on a purple background with yellow lamb leather.

"Intuitions" Range / Theme Nature A regal festive vibe for this luminous and sophisticated bag... Visually and tactilely rich materials, a spacious and well-organized volume.

Its story

Champagne! The perfect name for this bag, evoking both its generous volume and the festive moments promised by its colors. The purple of royalty, the yellow of candle flames, the gold of jewelry…
Whether you need it for a meeting (it fits a notebook, a tablet, or even a laptop if left unzipped) or a romantic weekend getaway (just pack your essentials and a change of clothes), it will become your best ally!

More and more, I love transforming the “Thistle” pattern from Mokosh Wraps (a Russian baby wrap brand for which I’m an ambassador in France) to prove that, by pushing the boundaries, one can transcend kitsch and return to chic.
I had already done it with the Nostalgie “Salamandre” shoulder bag and more recently with a bag just for myself (visible on my social media). Now, I’m doubling down with this large bucket bag. Initially, the pattern didn’t inspire me much—I found it too simple.
That was before I reminded myself that constraint breeds creativity, and this was precisely an opportunity to approach this shape differently from other bagmakers. Especially since this type of form is perfect for showcasing a fabric without its design being “eaten up” by the bag’s geometry.

It took me a while to find THE perfect yellow leather. Ironically, it arrived by chance in a batch of hides just when I had given up looking. That’s when I pulled out this baby wrap fabric and some poplin scraps I had bought from a seamstress, ordered premium hardware from my favorite supplier, and got to work!

The result: a large bag that is chic, bold, and practical, with plenty of storage and ample space.

Common questions

Are your products authentic?

All my creations are numbered and come with an identity card that includes the type, model, version, number, detailed materials list, and care instructions.
I'd been working on a blockchain-based authenticity certificate, but I finally decided against it (for a host of reasons I might write an article about someday).

How long does it take for a custom piece?

The time it takes will greatly depend on the complexity of your request, the availability of components, and my schedule, which varies depending on the time of year. On average, expect between 4 and 10 weeks. The quote I provide will contain an accurate estimate of the timeline, and I commit to responding as accurately as possible to your requests, while respecting the creative and production process.

What is the protective pouch included with the bags?

Every bag I create comes with a bespoke protective pouch, made by hand in my studio.

This isn't throwaway packaging — it's a permanent accessory, meant to be used every day to store your bag when you're not using it, protect it from scratches and dust, or keep it safe when travelling.

It's made in organic cotton satin, sewn to the exact dimensions of your piece, with an organic cotton drawstring to close it. It's branded Marie Alhomme.

For wallets, coin purses, and smaller accessories, I wrap the piece in tissue paper produced locally and sustainably (Papeteries de Montségur, Loire), rather than in a pouch.

Can I change my delivery address?

It is sometimes possible to change a delivery address as long as the order has not been shipped. To do so, please contact me as soon as possible via hello@marie-alhomme.com or by phone at +33(0)661356222.

Once your order has been shipped, it is no longer possible to make changes. In that case, you will need to contact the selected carrier as soon as possible (but with no guarantee of results).

Charlotte’s baby wrap

After ordering a bag from stock, Charlotte realized it would be too small. I offered to make her a custom, larger version, and she sent me her baby wrap to transform.
